When Meryl began working with children during her Master’s internship, she knew she had found her passion and never looked back. Since then, Meryl has worked as a school social worker providing individual and group therapy to children with a variety of developmental, psychiatric, and learning needs. She created and implemented a social skills development course for lower, middle, and high school students. In addition to her work with students, Meryl coaches teaching staff on how to implement appropriate behavioral interventions for students who are struggling. If you have a child or teen that is struggling in the school system, Meryl’s knowledge and expertise will be of great value.
Though Meryl loves working with kids of all ages, she particularly enjoys working with elementary and middle school children. She has a passion for helping kids diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and when asked about how she sees her role as a therapist, she says, “My goal is to help your child better understand themselves and the world around them, develop tools to regulate in the face of social demands, explore their own thoughts and feelings, and form deeper, more meaningful connections with their peers.”

I became a counselor after working in higher education and seeing the diverse emotional needs young adults were struggling to manage. After getting my Masters, I have worked in a school setting helping teens manage emotions in an increasingly complex world and build foundational life skills that will allow them to find success socially and academically. I believe strongly in the importance of a collaborative and holistic support system, and work proactively with parents, and schools.
I am passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults to help them address their anxiety, depression, build positive relationships, manage their stress and build their self-esteem. I particularly enjoy the “tween” age group as middle school can be a challenging time, but it is also a time of immense growth and change.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together to help you grow into your most authentic and fulfilled self. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Strengths based practices.
I will meet you where you are and help you find the tools that work best for you so you can overcome whatever is holding you back.
